Reports circulating in certain media outlets claiming that Vladimir Nosov or W Group purchased a stake in Spyker from Arkady Rotenberg or entities affiliated with him are false and untrue.
This is stated in an official statement from W Group, a copy of which was received by Ukrainian News.
The statement explains that W Group’s investment was made directly into the Dutch company owned by Victor Muller, the sole owner and CEO of Spyker. Neither Vladimir Nosov nor W Group purchased any shares or assets belonging to Arkady Rotenberg or his affiliates.
Before concluding the deal, W Group conducted a comprehensive legal and corporate due diligence in collaboration with leading Dutch legal advisors, including sanctions checks and compliance with applicable European Union regulations. The review found no legal or sanctions-related obstacles to the transaction.
At the same time, the statement notes that between 2019 and 2022, Viktor Müller did indeed hold negotiations with Arkady Rotenberg. However, these interactions did not result in the conclusion of any agreement regarding Spyker or the transfer of corporate rights or assets. Moreover, neither Arkady Rotenberg nor Boris Rotenberg were ever shareholders of Spyker, neither in the company’s previous corporate structure nor in the new structure established in 2026.
"Accordingly, W Group’s current investment is in no way connected to these individuals. The assets that were the subject of this agreement were exclusively owned by Viktor Müller," the statement reads.
The statement once again emphasized that W Group is an international company with Ukrainian roots, has a steadfast and unwavering position in support of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, for which it has been recognized as a banned organization within the Russian Federation. The company consistently adheres to the principles of transparency, operates in accordance with European Union legislation, and categorically rejects any unfounded attempts to link the company’s activities to Russian business.
Earlier, the authoritative Financial Times reported that Ukrainian businessman and WhiteBIT founder Volodymyr Nosov had purchased a stake in the Dutch supercar manufacturer Spyker. At the same time, it was announced that a joint technology company between W Group and Spyker would be established, to be named Spyker Digital.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian media claimed that the aforementioned stake was allegedly purchased from sanctioned Russian oligarch Arkady Rotenberg or his brother Boris Rotenberg.
