The European Union’s new package of sanctions against russia, the aggressor nation, may include a ban on entry into the EU for all participants in the war against Ukraine. The European Commission has put forward this proposal.

According to European Pravda, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced this on Tuesday, June 9.

“We propose for the first time to ban from entry into the European Union anyone who has served in the Russian Armed Forces since the beginning of the war,” said the European Commission President.

According to her, this applies not only to russian citizens but also to foreign nationals who joined the russian army to participate in the war against Ukraine.

A ban on entry into the EU for participants in the war is proposed to be included in the 21st package of European sanctions against russia, which is currently being drafted.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in late May, Ukraine launched a website called Stop Russian Recruiters. According to information published on the site, since the start of the full-scale invasion, russia has recruited over 28,000 foreigners to participate in the war against Ukraine.

As a reminder, earlier the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine published data on Russian Paralympians who took direct part in the war against Ukraine.
