On the night of June 7–8, drones attacked the russian city of Novorossiysk in the Krasnodar Krai. According to reports from monitoring groups and local residents, the city’s oil infrastructure was hit, resulting in a fire.
According to eyewitnesses, at least 50 explosions were heard in Novorossiysk throughout the night. Afterward, fire and smoke were visible above one of the industrial sites.
This is reported by monitoring channels, as well as Exilenova+ and ASTRA.
It is reported that the fire broke out at the "Grushevaya" site, which is a tank farm of the "Sheskharis" transshipment complex.
"Grushevaya" is considered the largest oil storage facility in the Caucasus and is part of the "Sheskharis" transshipment complex, which belongs to JSC "Chernomortransneft" — a subsidiary of russia's "Transneft."
The oil storage facility is connected to the marine terminal by a system of pipelines and tunnels through which the crude is transported to the berths for subsequent loading onto tankers.
Russian authorities have not yet released any official information regarding the extent of the damage or the possible consequences of the attack. Details about the incident continue to emerge.
As a reminder, on May 28 and during the night of May 29, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a number of key facilities belonging to the russian occupiers, including the Volgograd Oil Refinery, the "Yaroslavl-3" oil pumping station, a "Tor-M2" air defense system, a logistics warehouse, and UAV control centers.
Additionally, on the night of May 31, Ukrainian defenders struck the Saratov Oil Refinery, where a large-scale fire has been reported. Among other facilities of the occupying state that were struck is the "Lazarevo" line production and dispatch station in the Kirov Oblast of the russian federation.
Meanwhile, on the night of June 2, the Ilsky Oil Refinery caught fire in russia’s Krasnodar Krai following a drone attack.
