Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed reports that russian oligarch Roman Abramovich had arrived in Kyiv. The President made the remarks in an exclusive interview with Sky News on Sunday, June 7.

Zelenskyy said that Abramovich had arrived in Kyiv and claimed to have brought a message from Putin, to which he wanted a response to convey to the russian dictator.

"But he said that it has to be [done] silently without any kind of publicity. I said it's your choice - for us, it doesn't matter,” the President emphasized.

Zelenskyy added that it was "not a secret" that Abramovich had come to them, and that he wanted to understand "what we are ready to do" when it comes to peace talks.

According to him, the issue of the Donbas was key, to which Abramovich received the answer that russia would not get it. When asked whether the oligarch is now a “go-between” for communication between Zelenskyy and putin, the Ukrainian President replied: “When he got the messages from me, he said he would go directly to Putin.”

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on June 6, MP Oleksii Honcharenko stated that on May 21, russian oligarch Roman Abramovich visited Kyiv to meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
