Paul McCartney's album "The Boys of Dungeon Lane" debuted at number one in the UK charts. For Sir Paul McCartney, this is the 24th album to top the chart, taking into account his solo work and releases by The Beatles and Wings.
This was reported on the musician's official website.
Paul McCartney's new album "The Boys of Dungeon Lane", which was released on May 29, took first place in the UK charts in its first week after release.
This is the 24th time McCartney has topped the UK album chart. The statistics include both his solo works and albums recorded as part of The Beatles and Wings.
"You know what? Our album is number one! There's nowhere higher. And we're very happy. My team and this whole gang who worked on it did a fantastic job, thank them all. And thank you to everyone who bought it! And thank you to me!" Paul McCartney said.
"The Boys of Dungeon Lane" became the musician's 20th solo album and his first studio release since 2020. The previous album "McCartney III" also reached the first place in the British charts.
In the songs of the new album, McCartney turns to memories of childhood and friends with The Beatles. The title of the record comes from an alley in the suburbs of Liverpool, where the band members spent a lot of time. Ringo Starr took part in the recording of the album.
As a reminder, the number of artificially generated tracks masquerading as the work of real artists is rapidly growing in the Ukrainian music space. Experts warn that it is becoming increasingly difficult to recognize such songs, but there are several signs that help distinguish music created by algorithms.
