In light of the situation caused by the shortage of motor fuel on the peninsula, a number of administrative measures have been taken.
Sergey Aksyonov, the governor of the temporarily occupied Crimea, announced this on his Telegram channel, according to the Ukrainian News agency.
The message states that starting today, the sale of gasoline for cash will be completely restricted for several days, and there are no vouchers available for free sale and there will not be any in the near future.
Fuel will be sold in 20-liter quantities per person using previously purchased coupons.
The Gauleiter wrote that to ensure legality and fairness, as well as to prevent abuse, an agreement has been reached with fuel market operators that officials from municipal and republican agencies will be stationed at every gas station to record the license plate numbers of vehicles belonging to individuals and businesses refueling with coupons.
Aksyonov added that all public utilities, emergency medical services, law enforcement agencies, and public transportation are fully supplied with fuel, and government agencies have optimized their use of vehicles, limiting it to one car per ministry.
He also noted that this regime will remain in effect for several days, and the latest information will be updated daily.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, “russian tourists” cannot leave Crimea because there is no gasoline at gas stations.
In late May, the occupying authorities in Crimea imposed restrictions on fuel sales—no more than 20 liters per person per day.
And as early as June 1, the largest gas station chains in occupied Crimea ran out of gasoline vouchers amid a fuel crisis caused by strikes by the Ukrainian Defense Forces on the logistics infrastructure of the aggressor country, russia.
