US President Donald Trump announced that after talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and contacts with Hezbollah representatives, the parties agreed to stop hostilities.

The American leader wrote about this on his social network Truth Social.

According to Trump, during a telephone conversation with Netanyahu, an agreement was reached to refuse to introduce Israeli troops into Beirut. He also noted that the units that had already set out in this direction had been ordered to return.

"I had a very productive phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, and troops will not be sent to Beirut, and those troops that have already gone there have already been turned back," the US President wrote.

Trump also reported on negotiations through intermediaries with representatives of Hezbollah. According to him, the parties agreed to stop mutual strikes.

"Through high-ranking representatives, I had a very productive conversation with Hezbollah, and they agreed that all hostilities will cease - Israel will not attack them, and they will not attack Israel," he said.

Earlier, Iran insisted on de-escalation of the situation in Lebanon as one of the conditions for continuing negotiations with the US on the settlement of regional tensions.

Recall that the memorandum of understanding will also state that the war between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon will end.
