The State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" sold almost 1.1 million m³ of firewood to the population and social sector facilities, which is twice as much as for the same period in 2025 (534,000 m³).
This is stated in the report of the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine", Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The report states that usually foresters urge Ukrainians to stock up on firewood in advance for the winter and not to postpone the purchase until autumn, but this year firewood is being bought up more actively than ever.
On average, 225,000 m³ are shipped each month.
Such dynamics in previous years were observed exclusively in the peak months of the heating season.
It is noted that there are all the prerequisites for reaching the highest level of firewood consumption this year since the establishment of the enterprise - over 3 million m³.
Thus, in 2023, 2.97 million m³ were sold; in 2024 - 2.78 million m³, and in 2025 - 2.45 million m³.
"Forests of Ukraine" reported that despite high demand, firewood is available.
The enterprise has accumulated about 200,000 m³ of firewood in its warehouses, and the enterprise constantly monitors the maintenance of sufficient stocks in each of its 1,340 forestry departments.
The enterprise plans to procure another 2 million m³ for household needs by the end of the year.
Firewood prices for the population will remain stable. Prices are almost half the prices formed on the exchange.
Provided that there are no sharp fluctuations in prices for fuel and lubricants (fuels and lubricants), services and logistics, the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" guarantees that the price level for firewood will remain unchanged until the end of the 2026/2027 heating season.
Traditionally, the most expensive are hardwood firewood with a high calorific value (Group I - UAH 1,400 including VAT).
This is followed by Group II firewood (pine, alder - UAH 1,100 including VAT), and the cheapest are Group III firewood - UAH 950 including VAT (spruce, fir, softwood).
In addition to selling firewood to the population, the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" actively participates in tender purchases for the social sphere, budgetary institutions and units of the Ministry of Defense.
Since the beginning of 2026, 813 contracts have been concluded for the supply of 247,000 m³ of firewood, of which more than 130,000 m³ have already been shipped.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the demand for wood in Ukraine continues to grow and prices are rising accordingly.
At the end of October 2025, the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" was preparing for an increase in demand for firewood for the needs of the population and was not going to sell firewood at auctions.
