Vitali Klitschko, the mayor of the capital, posted a heartfelt message celebrating the Day of Kyiv.
"Kyiv. The heart of Ukraine. A city of history, architecture, and an unshakable will to live and to be free. A city with a special atmosphere and the best people. Happy birthday, dear Kyiv! And congratulations to everyone who loves our city!" wrote the mayor of the capital.
Klitschko recalled how the capital held its ground at the start of the full-scale invasion.
"The enemy did not break Kyiv, and will not break Ukraine! We are helping our defenders, working, and rebuilding the city from the aggressor’s attacks. We love our Kyiv, and together we are making it even more beautiful. Victory will come! And the sun of a peaceful day and a peaceful holiday will shine over the capital. We believe in ourselves and we believe in Ukraine!" he emphasized.
