The aggressor country of russia damaged one of the largest biofuel power plants in Eastern Europe, located in the Ivankivskyi district of the Kyiv Region. Investments in this facility amount to USD 40 million. This was reported by the founder of the Biogazenergo company, Oleksii Butenko, on Friday, May 29.
The bioenergy power plant was damaged and partially destroyed by the russian occupiers during the attack on the night of May 28.
"For some, it's just an industrial facility. For me, it's a part of life. One of the largest biofuel power plants in Eastern Europe. USD 40 million in investment. Over 400 jobs. Partnership with the EBRD," Butenko said.
One of the largest bioenergy TPPs in Ukraine
The Ivankivska bioenergy TPP is one of the largest biomass generation facilities in Ukraine, the implementation of which was financed in particular by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. It was put into operation in 2014. The installed capacity of the facility is 19 MW. A "green" tariff of 12.39 euro cents per kWh in hryvnia equivalent was also set for the station. Butenko stressed that the company will restore the damaged facility.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on May 28, rescuers showed the process of eliminating the consequences of the russian strike in the Kyiv Region.
