Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya has said that moscow will not agree to a peace agreement without fulfilling a number of demands that the kremlin calls "the root causes of the war", including the issue of Ukraine's membership in NATO.

The russian diplomat said this during a briefing at the UN, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to Nebenzya, before any agreements can be reached, it is necessary to "eliminate the main causes of the conflict".

The russian representative included Ukraine's possible accession to NATO and the alleged "threat" to russia from Ukraine.

In addition, the russian diplomat once again repeated the kremlin's traditional propaganda statements about the so-called "neo-Nazi nature of the regime" in Ukraine and the alleged "oppression of the russian-speaking population".

Nebenzya did not provide specific details regarding possible negotiations or compromises.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Zelenskyy believes it is possible to end the hot phase of the war in Ukraine by November.
