Dr. Jonathan Reiner, who previously served as Vice President Dick Cheney's cardiologist, said the President has severe daytime sleepiness. He said Trump "falls asleep very often," including during Oval Office conversations and meetings.

Reiner also called chronic insomnia a "serious condition" and said it can increase the risk of dementia and cognitive decline in older adults.

White House spokesman Davis Ingle accused the doctor of political bias and professional misconduct. He said Trump remains the "most energetic" President in US history and such comments are "untrue speculation."

According to a Washington Post poll conducted in April, only 40% of Americans are confident in the cognitive acuity of the US President. A Reuters poll showed that 51% of respondents believe that Trump's condition is worsening.

Recall that the other day, US President Donald Trump was expected to undergo his third scheduled medical examination in the past 13 months on Tuesday.
