The Finnish Air Force will conduct exercises to repel drone attacks near the border with russia following the crash of several UAVs within the country.

The exercises will take place in the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland, as well as in the Kymenlaakso and South Karelia regions. The maneuvers will be held on May 27–28. F/A-18 Hornet fighter jets and MD500 army helicopters, which will simulate drones, will be involved in the exercises.
It is noted that live ammunition will not be used. However, due to the exercises, restrictions are being imposed in the airspace, particularly on the operation of civilian drones.
The Air Force exercises are not related to the large-scale military maneuvers currently taking place in southeastern Finland, which involve approximately 13,000 personnel from the Navy and Army.
In late March and early April, four drones that had strayed into Finland crashed in Kouvola, Iitti, Luumäki, and Parikkala. Also, in mid-May, a warning was issued in Uusimaa regarding the potential appearance of a drone in Finnish airspace.
As the Ukrainian News agency previously reported, in early May, Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo and the President of Ukraine discussed the issue of drones that had strayed into Finnish airspace.
Meanwhile, Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur announced that Baltic air defense had for the first time shot down a drone that entered Estonian airspace. It is likely that the drone was of Ukrainian origin.
