Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with members of the Servant of the People faction, during which they discussed the situation on the front lines, prospects for ending the war, and economic issues.
Ukrainska Pravda reported this, citing its own sources.
According to the publication, the meeting was also attended by the leadership of the Verkhovna Rada, the head of the Office of the President, Kyrylo Budanov, and Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko.
At the beginning of the meeting, Zelenskyy briefed the lawmakers on the current situation at the front and international negotiations.
Separately, lawmakers asked how stable the situation in the country remains.
According to sources, the president stated that over the next six months, russia could be pushed into substantive negotiations to end the war.
At the same time, Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of passing the laws necessary to receive international aid.
According to Ukrainska Pravda, MPs from the Servant of the People party are set to begin reviewing amendments to the Customs Code as early as this week.
According to the publication’s sources, the meeting took place in a calmer and more relaxed atmosphere than previous similar events.
However, it was not without its contentious moments. In particular, MP Yurii Kamelchuk reportedly raised the issue of his possible appointment as energy minister once again.
Also, independent MP Mariana Bezuhla once again called for the resignation of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi and for “army reform.”
According to sources, such meetings between Zelenskyy and the faction are planned to be held regularly in the future—approximately once every two months.
As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on improvements in Ukraine’s positions on the front lines.
According to him, Ukraine’s active defense is achieving greater results thanks to technological solutions.
