Ukrainians reduce gold purchases by one third to 19.2 kg in April

In April, Ukrainians purchased 19.19 kg of gold (equivalent to USD 2.9 million), which is 33% less than in March.

This is according to data from the National Bank of Ukraine, as reported by the Ukrainian News agency.

It is noted that in April, the population purchased 617 troy ounces of gold (equivalent to USD 2.909 million).

The public also purchased 1,609 troy ounces of silver (equivalent to USD 121,000).

It is worth noting that in April, banks purchased 756 troy ounces of gold from the public (equivalent to USD 3.564 million).

In January, banks sold 849 troy ounces to the public (worth USD 3.976 million), in February—609 troy ounces (worth USD 3.061 million), and in March—918 troy ounces (worth USD 4.496 million).

The weight of one troy ounce (troy oz) is 31.1034768 grams.

In 2025, the population purchased over 463 kg of gold (14,890 troy ounces).

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the National Bank of Ukraine removed the Bulgarian lev from the list of foreign currencies against which the official hryvnia exchange rate is set, effective January 2, 2026.
