During the massive night shelling of the capital on the night of May 24, russian troops struck two secondary schools in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the city. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported this on his Telegram channel.
In one of the schools, the enemy strike caused destruction that completely blocked the exit from the underground room. At the time of the hit, civilians were inside the school shelter, trying to hide from the shelling.
"The entrance to the shelter was blocked," the capital's mayor wrote.
Rescue units immediately went to the scene of the accident to sort out the rubble and unblock people. Currently, the exact number of citizens in the shelter and their condition are being clarified.
In another school in the same district, a large-scale fire broke out on the second floor as a result of the arrival. Firefighters are working to eliminate the fire, the details of the destruction are being clarified.
In total, according to the latest data from the city authorities, at least ten people were injured as a result of this massive night attack in the capital. Emergency services continue to overcome the consequences of enemy strikes on civilian infrastructure.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the russian federation attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles, there is destruction and fires in four districts, and three victims are known.
