The US is changing the leadership of National Intelligence: Director Tulsi Gabbard is leaving her post, and CIA veteran Aaron Lucas will temporarily take her place.

Donald Trump announced the decision on the appointment on his own social network Truth Social, explaining the resignation by personal circumstances.

The new head will take office on July 1.

US President Donald Trump announced personnel changes in the leadership of National Intelligence, stating that the current Director Tulsi Gabbard will leave her post on June 30, after which the duties of the interim head of the agency will be transferred to experienced CIA employee Aaron Lucas.

According to Trump, the decision to dismiss Gabbard is related to personal circumstances, as her husband Abraham recently received a serious medical diagnosis - a rare form of bone cancer, and she plans to focus on her family and his treatment.

The US President stressed that Gabbard performed her duties at a high level and did an "incredible job" in her position, emphasizing that her contribution to the work of the intelligence agency was noticeable and important to the administration.

"She did an incredible job," said Donald Trump, commenting on her activities and departure from office.

The new acting director of the National Intelligence will be Aaron Lucas, who currently serves as the principal deputy director of the agency and has significant experience in the Central Intelligence Agency, which, according to experts, provides him with the necessary preparation for the temporary leadership of the structure.

Lucas is expected to take office on July 1, continuing the work of the agency during the transition period, while the administration determines the long-term leadership of the US intelligence sector.

US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard announced her resignation. She said she was leaving her position due to her husband's illness, who is battling a rare form of bone cancer.
