US President Donald Trump announced an increase of 5,000 troops in the American military contingent in Poland. He attributed this decision to his close relationship with the newly elected Polish leader, Karol Nawrocki. He made this announcement on his official account on the social media platform Truth Social.
According to the American leader, the expansion of the US military presence in Europe was made possible by the successful elections in Poland.
"Based on the successful Election of the now President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, who I was proud to Endorse, and our relationship with him, I am pleased to announce that the United States will be sending an additional 5,000 Troops to Poland," Trump stated.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Polish President Karol Nawrocki previously stated that if US President Donald Trump decides to “reduce American military units in Germany, Poland is ready to accept American soldiers.”
Earlier, the US Department of Defense abruptly canceled the rotational deployment of an armored brigade to Poland, marking a significant step toward US President Donald Trump’s plan to reduce the US presence in Europe.
