A russian Molniya type drone equipped with a thermite mixture was destroyed in the sky over Kostiantynivka, Donetsk Region.

The Khyzhak [Predator] brigade at the Department of the Patrol Police of Ukraine reported the incident by publishing a video on Facebook.

While on combat duty, the mobile fire group of the Khyzhak brigade recorded a drone in the air that was moving over Kostiantynivka.

According to the soldier with the call sign Django, the device was not immediately identified at first due to the nature of the burning.

"At first I didn't understand what it was. We thought it was phosphorus. It was burning, it was trailing a plume. It was the first time I had seen anything like that. I decided to shoot," he was quoted as saying in the unit.

First, the soldier hit the gimbal with an incendiary mixture, after which the drone was completely destroyed.

The brigade noted that these were russian "dragon-drones" - Molniya type drones, which are equipped with a thermite mixture to destroy positions and anti-drone structures.
