In the coming months, the Ministry of Defense will focus on changes in recruiting and service, procurement and providing brigades with drones. Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov stated this at a meeting with journalists dedicated to the results of the department's work, Ukrainian Pravda writes.

Thus, according to Fedorov, the Ministry of Defense is preparing the first projects to change the conditions of recruiting and service in the Defense Forces. This includes, in particular, a new model of financial support, a contract system with defined terms of service and rotation logic, new approaches to staffing units, as well as a reduction in the percentage of unauthorized abandonment of a military unit.

The second direction, Fedorov called procurement. According to him, in the summer the Ministry of Defense plans to switch to tender procedures in defense procurement.

"We have already held the largest competitive procedure for the purchase of 155 mm long-range artillery rounds and achieved savings of over 16%. The next step is to transfer drone purchases to tenders. Our task is to build a transparent, competitive and fast procurement system without corruption risks," Fedorov said.

Also, according to Fedorov, the Ministry of Defense is preparing anti-corruption changes in the field of research and development work and state quality assurance.

The third direction, Fedorov called the launch of a basic guaranteed minimum for providing brigades with drones. According to him, this is necessary so that the units understand what minimum resources they are guaranteed to receive next month for planning work and operations.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, according to Fedorov, Ukraine is developing cheap interceptor missiles to combat russian Shahed strike UAVs and is already testing some solutions.
