US President Donald Trump said that Washington is ready to strike again at Iran if Tehran does not agree to a peace deal. At the same time, the American leader noted that the United States may wait a few more days for the Iranian side to react.
This is reported by Reuters.
During a conversation with reporters, Trump stressed that the situation remains very tense and could quickly get out of control.
"Believe me, if we do not get the right answers, everything will happen very quickly. We are all ready to act," the US President said.
When asked how long he was ready to wait, Trump replied: "It could be a few days, but everything could happen very quickly."
As the agency notes, six weeks after the suspension of Operation Epic Fury, negotiations to end the conflict have effectively reached a deadlock. Against the backdrop of the escalation, gasoline prices have also risen sharply, which is negatively affecting the ratings of the American President.
In response, Iran warned of the possible consequences of new attacks by the United States.
As a reminder, the United States may launch a ground operation to seize Iranian enriched uranium in the coming days.
