Kyiv receives equipment for uninterrupted operation of pumping stations from Japanese partners - Klitschko

Kyiv pumping stations are installing equipment for uninterrupted operation, which was sent by Japanese partners to strengthen the energy stability of the Ukrainian capital.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced this on his Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"Meet at the capital's city hall with a delegation of the Japan International Cooperation Agency JICA, led by Senior Vice President Yuko Mitsui. Today, together with representatives of the city hall, the JICA delegation visited two artesian pumping stations in Kyiv, where water purification systems with the possibility of uninterrupted operation are being installed. Kyiv and PrJSC Kyivvodokanal received new equipment from JICA within the framework of the "Emergency Recovery Program" - an international technical assistance project," Klitschko wrote.

The mayor noted that modern equipment is being installed at facilities on which 60,000 Kyiv residents depend for water supply.

The modernization not only increases the efficiency of the artesian stations, but also provides for the possibility of their autonomous operation, which is important in the context of the capital's energy sustainability, the mayor emphasized.

Klitschko also recalled that JICA had previously sent 11 modern mini excavators and 2 large ones to Kyiv. They help, in particular, eliminate the consequences of enemy shelling.

In addition, last year, 11 social institutions of the city received modern rehabilitation equipment from Japanese partners.

"The Government of Japan and JICA continue to support Ukraine and Kyiv in this dramatic time for our state. The assistance of partners is of great importance, as it is aimed at strengthening the resilience of the city's critical and social infrastructure in war conditions," the mayor emphasized.
