Russia launched 209 drones over Ukraine at night, air defense neutralized 180 of them

On the night of May 19, the russian occupation forces carried out another large-scale air attack on the territory of Ukraine, using two hundred and nine drones. This was reported by the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The enemy used a wide range of air targets, including attack UAVs of the Shahed type, including their new jet modifications, drones of the Gerbera and Italmas type, as well as special simulator drones of the Parody type.

To repel the powerful air attack, significant forces and assets were involved, including tactical aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. According to preliminary data from the military, as of 8:30 am, air defense managed to shoot down or suppress using electronic warfare means one hundred and eighty enemy drones in the northern, southern, and eastern directions of the country.

Despite the effective work of the sky defenders, it was not possible to completely avoid the consequences of the massive strike. Twenty-seven strike drones were recorded hitting the territory of Ukraine in fifteen different locations. In addition, debris from downed air targets was recorded falling in five other points. Currently, the liquidation of the consequences of the enemy flights is ongoing at the scene of the incidents.

On the night of May 18, russian forces attacked a Chinese merchant ship in Ukrainian territorial waters. The invaders used a Shahed drone to strike the civilian ship.
