In the city of San Diego, two armed teenagers opened fire at the Islamic Center, as a result of which three people were killed. After the attack, the young men probably committed suicide.

According to police, the attack took place on the territory of the largest mosque in San Diego County. The teenagers shot a security guard and two other men near the Islamic Center building.
The bodies of the attackers aged 17 and 18 were later found in a car nearby. Investigators believe that they committed suicide with firearms.
Police Chief Scott Wahl said law enforcement and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are investigating the incident as a possible hate crime.

A security guard at the mosque may have helped prevent more deaths, officials said.
Shortly before the shooting, the mother of one of the suspects called police and reported that her suicidal son had fled the house in a car, taking three guns with him. She also said the boy was with a friend, and both were wearing camouflage.
After the call, the police began searching for the teenagers and increased patrols near the school and shopping center. Later, the first reports of shootings at the mosque were received. According to law enforcement officers, dozens of police officers arrived at the scene within minutes of the call. During the operation, the security forces did not open fire.
