The first Ukrainian guided aerial bomb is ready for combat use.
This was announced by the Minister of Defense Mykhailo Fedorov in the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"We continue to develop Ukrainian high-tech solutions for the front. The Brave1 participant created the first Ukrainian guided aerial bomb, which has already passed the necessary tests and is ready for combat use," he said.
Fedorov added that the development lasted 17 months, the Ukrainian guided aerial bomb has a unique design and was created taking into account the realities of modern warfare, the warhead is 250 kg.
"This is not a copy of Western or Soviet solutions, but an own development of Ukrainian engineers for effective destruction of fortifications, command posts and other enemy targets tens of kilometers deep after launch," he noted.
According to him, the Ministry of Defense has already purchased the first experimental batch, now the pilots are practicing combat scenarios and adapting the use of the new tool in real war conditions.
"Ukraine is moving from importing individual solutions to creating its own high-tech weapons, which systematically strengthens the Defense Forces and gives a technological advantage on the battlefield. Soon, Ukrainian guided aerial bombs will work on enemy targets. We are scaling solutions that increase the range and accuracy of destruction and change the rules of modern warfare," the minister noted.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Ministry of Defense previously reported on the testing of an AI turret to intercept russian drones.
