On the morning of May 18, it became known about the death of MP of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv.

The information was confirmed in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and the case was also reported by MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak.

Stepan Kubiv died at the age of 64.

He was born on March 19, 1962 in the village of Mshanets in the territory of the former Zboriv district of the Ternopil Region.

In parliament, Kubiv worked as a member of the Committee on Economic Development. He was an MP of the VII, VIII and IX convocations of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

In 2014, he served as the Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine. From 2016 to 2019, he served as the First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economic Development and Trade.

During the Revolution of Dignity, Kubiv served as the Commandant of the National Resistance Headquarters. He also headed the All-Ukrainian Society "Memorial" named after Vasyl Stus and had a PhD in Economics.

Before working in the public sector, he headed a Lviv bank, which now operates as JSC "Kredobank" and is part of the PKO Bank Polski group.
