As part of the latest repatriation efforts, the remains of 528 fallen defenders have been returned to Ukraine.

It was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.

The SSU noted that the repatriation was the result of joint efforts by several agencies within the security and defense sector.

The process involved the Joint Center for Coordination of the Search and Release of Prisoners of War under the SSU, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police, the Defense Intelligence, the State Emergency Service, the State Border Guard Service, and other agencies.

The security service emphasized that behind every such repatriation lies complex interagency work, the main goal of which is to bring fallen soldiers home and give their families the opportunity to bid them a dignified farewell.

In the near future, investigators from law enforcement agencies and expert units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will conduct the necessary examinations to identify the deceased.

The SSU assured that efforts to repatriate the bodies of fallen Ukrainian defenders are ongoing.

"Eternal memory to the fallen Defenders of Ukraine," the statement reads.
