On the night of May 16, strike drones attacked the Stavropol Krai region of the russian federation, striking the Azot chemical plant in Nevinnomyssk.
A fire broke out at the site of the strike, according to the monitoring Telegram channel "Exilenova+."
“In the city of Nevinnomyssk, Stavropol Krai, the Nevinnomyssk Azot chemical plant was attacked; a video posted by local residents shows a fire at the facility,” the report states.
Stavropol Krai Governor Vladimir Vladimirov confirmed that drones did indeed attack Nevinnomyssk, but denied that the plant had been damaged.
"Our air defense forces repelled an attack by enemy UAVs near Nevinnomyssk. There are no casualties or damage on the ground. Thank you to the defenders of our skies. The drone danger alert in Stavropol remains in effect. Stay alert and be careful," Vladimirov wrote.
In addition, monitors reported a fire in Tatarstan, where the "Electric Networks Enterprise" LLC caught fire.
At the time of publication, the Ukrainian side had not commented on the strikes on Tatarstan and the Stavropol Krai.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of May 15, drones struck one of russia’s largest oil refineries.
