The White House chief stated that the operation was carried out last night on his personal orders. He called it “flawlessly executed, meticulously planned, and very complex.”
Al-Minuki had been hiding in Africa, but US intelligence agencies tracked his movements through their own sources.
According to Trump, with al-Minuki’s death, “ISIS’s global operations have been significantly weakened.” The US president thanked the Nigerian government for its partnership.
The operation took place amid the US’s active fight against terrorist groups in Africa.
