Ukraine has received official confirmation that the Special Tribunal on russia’s crime of aggression against Ukraine will be established in The Hague.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has announced this during a televised marathon.

According to him, the Dutch side has officially confirmed that the Special Tribunal on the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine will be based in The Hague. This decision solidifies the further institutional framework for the future body of international justice.

Sybiha emphasized that, in this way, the process of establishing the tribunal is moving from the discussion phase to the practical phase.

"Today we received clear confirmation that the tribunal will be located in The Hague. And the Dutch side has confirmed this to us. This also indicates that the creation of the tribunal is no longer an abstract idea but a concrete mechanism, and those responsible will inevitably be held accountable for the crime of aggression," Sybiha said.

He also added that the approval in Chisinau of the agreement to establish a steering committee was an important step in forming the legal basis for the future tribunal.

According to him, 37 participants from various countries around the world, representing three continents, have already joined the initiative.
