Driver in Khmelnytskyi Region shoots police officers checking his documents

A driver, whose license had been revoked by a court order, opened fire on police officers during a routine document check. One officer was killed, and the other was injured. It was reported by the National Police of Ukraine on Friday, May 15.

The incident occurred today around 2:35 p.m. in the village of Terlivka, Letychiv territorial community, Khmelnytskyi District. The man, who had been stripped of his driver’s license, shot at police officers while they were checking his documents.

Preliminary reports indicate that one police officer was killed and another was injured as a result of the incident. The suspect fled the scene. Operational and investigative measures are currently underway to determine his whereabouts and apprehend him.

A special police operation has been launched in the Khmelnytskyi District.
