Former Ukraine national soccer team coach Serhiy Rebrov has posted UAH 30 million in bail for the former head of the President’s Office Andrii Yermak, according to Ukrainska Pravda, citing sources in law enforcement.

According to the publication, as of the morning of May 15, the total amount of bail posted for Yermak stands at UAH 44.5 million out of the required UAH 140 million. Rebrov’s contribution of UAH 30 million was the largest single payment. Approximately UAH 94.5 million remain to be paid.

Why is Yermak in custody?

On May 14, the High Anti-Corruption Court imposed a preventive measure on the former head of the President's Office in the form of detention with the right to post bail of UAH 140 million hryvnias. Yermak is suspected of involvement in the laundering of UAH 460 million during the construction of an elite cottage community. After the hearing, he stated that he does not have such funds but is counting on help from friends.

As previously reported, at the end of April, Serhiy Rebrov resigned as head coach of the Ukrainian national team after the team failed to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
