Sukhetskyi becomes new CEO of Ukrhydroenergo

Following an open competitive selection process, the Supervisory Board of PJSC Ukrhydroenergo has appointed Bohdan Sukhetskyi as the company's CEO.

The company has said this in a statement, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

To conduct the competition, the Supervisory Board engaged the international consulting firm Korn

Ferry, which specializes in the selection and evaluation of top management.

The selection process was conducted with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

Bohdan Leonidovych Sukhetskyi has been working at Ukrhydroenergo since 2010.

He previously served as Deputy CEO for Commercial Operations.

From May 2025 to May 2026, he served as the provisional CEO of Ukrhydroenergo.

He has over 16 years of experience in the energy sector.

His primary area of specialization at the company in previous years was commercial operations.

Education: Graduated from Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University (KNEU) with a degree in "Business Administration in the Energy Sector," earning a Master’s degree in "Management and Administration" with a specialization in "Management."

He received his higher education at the Kyiv National Economic University in the specialty "Marketing," earning a Master’s degree in Marketing Management.

He graduated from the Kharkiv National Automobile and Highway University with a degree in "Construction" and earned a Bachelor’s degree in construction.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in mid-November 2025, amid a corruption scandal in the energy sector, the Cabinet of Ministers approved an action plan to renew the composition of the supervisory boards and executive bodies of state-owned companies in the fuel and energy complex, including Ukrhydroenergo.

Ukrhydroenergo comprises the Kyiv HEPP, Kyiv PSPP, Kaniv HEPP, Kremenchuk HEPP, Seredniodniprovska HEPP, Dnipro HEPP, Dniester HEPP, Dniester PSPP, and Kakhovka HEPP, with a total installed capacity of 5.745 GW.

100% of Ukrhydroenergo’s shares are owned by the state and managed by the Ministry of Energy.
