Former head of the President's Office Andrii Yermak said that he does not have the financial ability to pay the bail of UAH 180 million, which the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office requires for him. In a comment to journalists, he emphasized that his assets are limited only by officially declared assets, which are significantly less than the amount specified in the prosecutors' request. This is reported by Suspilne.

"I definitely do not have that kind of money. I only have what is recorded in my declaration," Andrii Yermak said.

Currently, the SAPO insists on setting a bail of UAH 180 million as a preventive measure within the framework of criminal proceedings. At the same time, the defense of the former official considers such an amount to be unfounded. Lawyer Ihor Fomin emphasized that according to the law, the amount of bail must be commensurate with the person's income and the real possibility of paying it, without turning into a knowingly unbearable burden.

It was also reported that Yermak and his closest entourage found themselves in a difficult situation due to the need to urgently find UAH 180 million to pay the bail. This was reported by Mykhailo Tkach, a journalist for Ukrainian Pravda, referring to his own sources in political circles.

"The process of finding funds has encountered serious difficulties. The main problem is that the money must be of official origin, and not cash savings, with which the former official's entourage usually has no problems. Despite the fact that the searches took place at the end of November last year and Andrii Yermak had enough time to prepare, the active phase of the search for legal finances has only begun now," Tkach notes.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the court published Yermak's correspondence with Veronika Fengshui of the Office regarding the heads of the NABU and SAPO.
