President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expects that the issue of ending the russian-Ukrainian war will be raised while US President Donald Trump is on a visit to China.
He said this during his speech at the Bucharest Nine summit.
"We are in constant contact with our American partners. We are grateful to them and expect that the issue of ending the russian war against Ukraine will be raised now as well - while the US President is in China," Zelenskyy said.
The President emphasized that Ukraine is not giving up on diplomatic efforts and hopes that pressure on russia, together with negotiations in various formats, will help bring peace.
"Sanctions are working, our long-range capabilities are working, and every form of your pressure is working," he added.
According to Zelenskyy, the most effective tools are those that can physically stop the russians, in particular the PURL program.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs officially announced that Trump will visit China on May 13-15 at the invitation of Xi Jinping.
Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, together with President Donald Trump, went to China for talks with the country's leader Xi Jinping, but the Chinese side previously changed the spelling of his surname to circumvent the sanctions imposed against Rubio by Beijing.
