US intelligence has concluded that Iran has retained a significant part of its missile potential despite US President Donald Trump's statements about Tehran's serious weakening.
This was reported by The New York Times, citing an analysis by US intelligence agencies.
According to intelligence, Iran has restored operational access to 30 of the 33 missile sites along the Strait of Hormuz. Washington fears that this could pose a threat to US warships and oil tankers in the region.
"Most concerning is the evidence that Iran has regained operational access to 30 of its 33 missile sites," the report says.
In addition, using satellite imagery and other surveillance tools, US intelligence agencies have determined that Iran has regained access to approximately 90% of its underground missile storage facilities and launchers.
Intelligence officials believe that some of the sites are already fully or partially functional.
Earlier, Donald Trump said that Iran's missiles were "almost completely destroyed," and US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth claimed that Operation Epic Fury had rendered Iran's armed forces incapable of combat operations for years to come.
Recall that the US Department of the Treasury imposed sanctions on 10 companies and individuals it considers involved in the purchase of weapons for Iran.
