If Russia, the aggressor nation, is sincere in its hints about dialogue with Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is ready to speak with Vladimir Putin. This was stated by the head of the Office of the President, Kyrylo Budanov, as reported by LRT on Monday, May 11.
During a visit to Lithuania, Budanov emphasized that Ukraine is ready for serious talks with russia and consistently advocates for ending the war and establishing peace. According to him, the president also supports this official position.
“A conversation between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin will not happen suddenly, ‘like a bolt from the blue,’ but if Russia’s hints at dialogue are sincere, Ukraine would also be ready,” said the Head of the Office of the President.
Ukraine advocates for a cessation of hostilities, and making peace is a sign of common sense, not weakness, Budanov emphasized. The situation on the front lines remains stable, as does the russian regime: “But nothing in this world lasts forever,” the Head of the Office of the President noted.
