NPC Ukrenergo has submitted a proposal to the regulator to revise the tariffs for electricity transmission and power system dispatch for 2026.
The company’s press service reported this on Telegram.
They explained that the revision is linked to several factors. In particular, exchange rates have risen, increasing Ukrenergo’s costs in settlements with producers of “green” electricity, the price of which is pegged to the euro.
The power system balance forecast has also been updated. Electricity generation is expected to decrease by 9.5% and transmission volumes by 5.5%. This affects the company’s revenues, which cover the costs of operating the power system.
Separately, the planned liberalization of price caps in the electricity market starting May 1, 2026, will affect the calculations. It may change the average cost of electricity used in settlements between market participants.
Ukrenergo notes that the combination of these factors requires a review of tariffs to ensure the stable operation of the power system, prepare for the heating season, and prevent the accumulation of debt in the market.
At the same time, the company emphasizes that the changes apply only to the electricity market. Electricity rates for residential consumers will not change.
As a reminder, in February of this year, the National Bank suggested that electricity prices for households could rise after the heating season.
