Danylo Hetmantsev, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction and chairman of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax, and customs policy, stated that he supports capping officials' salaries during the war.

He made this statement in an interview with the Ukrainian News agency.

"To be honest, I don’t see much room for maneuver here. But this isn’t even about finding additional resources. It’s a matter of simple fairness. That is precisely why I introduced an amendment to the 2026 state budget law, proposing to cap payments to all officials and supervisory boards at no more than UAH 80,000 per month. I believe this is a very high salary during wartime, and a salary that an official—whose primary duty during the war is to serve, not to earn money—can live on until the end of the war. Further decisions can certainly be made based on other grounds and possibilities. But during the war, salaries definitely need to be limited," the MP said.

Danylo Hetmantsev recalled that he did not support the decision to increase lawmakers’ salaries by UAH 133,000.

"But unlike the opposition, represented by Dmytro Razumkov, who widely criticized this decision, I transfer UAH 133,000 to military units every month. And I publish the documents proving it. And all the others who criticized the pay raise for deputies—for some reason, they quietly pocketed that money and forgot about their supposedly uncompromising political stance,” Hetmantsev concluded.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Danylo Hetmantsev stated that he is categorically opposed to filling the Ukrainian labor market with migrants.
