Danylo Hetmantsev, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction and the chairman of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax, and customs policy, stated that he is categorically opposed to filling the Ukrainian labor market with migrants.

He made this statement in an interview with the Ukrainian News agency.

"I am categorically opposed to all these calls to bring in migrants and fill our labor market with them. I know that, first of all, not all of them come here to work. We see this in Europe. And we really wouldn’t want that to happen here. And secondly, the cultural difference is enormous. It’s a different world, a different history, a different mythology, a different religion, a different worldview. And integration into our culture will take place over generations, several generations. And that is why I have doubts that this will be a positive development for us, for our nation, for our people. In light of this, I am undoubtedly in favor of a strict migration policy," the MP said.

He added that, as of today, a return to pre-war demographic levels seems impossible.

"How can we solve this? How can we stop it? As long as there is no peace, no one will do anything about this problem. Therefore, we must unite around the President and demand from the aggressor, and from our partners—who, let’s be frank, are making various statements that we need to fight until 2030. These are shocking statements. And this is the first step toward resolving the demographic situation. Next, we need to ensure the return of our people. First is the availability of jobs, second is housing," emphasized Danylo Hetmantsev.

He is convinced that if there are jobs and housing, it will be possible for people to return home.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Danylo Getmantsev previously stated that he expects the special pensions for prosecutors to be abolished in May.
