Serhii Kuiun, director of the A-95 Consulting Group, noted that diesel prices at Ukrainian gas stations have begun to fall.
He wrote about this on his Facebook page, according to the Ukrainian News agency.
"This morning, prices at 'green' stations are down by UAH 2/liter, and at Ukrnafta stations, they’re down by UAH 1. I think there will be more to come.
Tomorrow, wholesale shipments of diesel fuel will begin at UAH 74/liter, which corresponds to UAH 80-82/liter at gas stations within 7-10 days. (For reference, yesterday the average price for diesel was UAH 89/liter).
The reason remains the same as always—a shift in the global market," Kuiun wrote.
According to him, this rollercoaster of changing forecasts is a perfect illustration of what’s happening.
"And while for us this is just a game, many traders are currently quietly crying in the corner because they bought fuel like fools at the peak," he added.
The expert wrote that fuel prices will fall as quickly as the situation allows. Everyone dreams of returning to the old prices, to the “good old days” of UAH 60/liter, or better yet—lower, because then, for some reason, people buy more eagerly.
And most importantly, this crisis has brought neither money nor satisfaction to anyone.
According to Kuiun, the fuel market has been “turned upside down,” and Ukrnafta increased its sales by 1.5 times over two months and rose to first place in the ranking of fuel retailers starting in the third month.
This means that all other players have lost market share, and therefore, the battle for every liter will be even fiercer.
This is the key to ensuring that prices fall as quickly as possible.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in early April, Serhii Kuiun, director of the A-95 Consulting Group, stated that diesel futures on the London Exchange had plummeted by 18% to USD 1,196.
Retail prices for diesel, gas, and A-92 gasoline at Ukrainian gas stations from May 1 to May 8 fell by UAH 0.01 to UAH 0.79, while prices for A-95 and A-95 premium gasoline rose by UAH 0.71 to UAH 1.15.
