President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the parties are coordinating a schedule of meetings, and that Donald Trump’s representatives are expected to visit Ukraine sometime between spring and summer.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced this following a report by Rustem Umerov on his visit to the United States.
According to Zelenskyy, the discussions with the American side were substantive. Separately, coordination regarding future visits is ongoing.
“We hope that this time we will be able to implement our plans and intensify diplomatic efforts,” the President noted.
Humanitarian issues were also raised during Umerov’s trip, particularly the continuation of prisoner exchanges. Separately, the finalization of agreements on security guarantees was discussed. Zelenskyy emphasized: “It is important that there is a constructive approach, and we need to move toward peace by strengthening Ukraine and bilateral relations with the United States.”
As a reminder, on May 7, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov arrived in the United States to meet with representatives of the US president.
