Ukraine has apologized to the Baltic states (Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania) and Finland for Ukrainian drones unintentionally entering their territories. Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced this on X, according to the Ukrainian News agency.

"We have already expressed our apologies to all three Baltic states, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, as well as Finland, for the unintended incidents that were caused by Russia’s EW systems redirecting Ukrainian drones. Our specialized institutions are working closely together to minimize risks of such incidents repeating," he said.

Sybiha noted that, in accordance with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s instructions, Ukraine is considering the possibility of sending Ukrainian expert teams to directly strengthen the airspace security of neighboring friendly countries against any type of incident.

The minister also stated that Ukraine is in close contact with Latvia regarding the recent drone incidents, and the relevant authorities are exchanging information to determine what happened.

Sybiha added that if it is confirmed that these were Ukrainian drones that were deliberately diverted from their course and directed toward Latvia by russian electronic warfare systems, Ukraine will apologize to its Latvian friends. He assured that Ukraine has never directed any drones toward Latvia.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo previously stated that it is unacceptable for drones to violate their country’s airspace.
