Drones attack moscow and two russian businesses before May 9 parade

On the night of May 7, drones attacked several regions of russia simultaneously. Explosions were heard in moscow, Yaroslavl, and Rostov-on-Don. In response to the attacks, russian airports imposed flight restrictions.

According to russian monitoring channels, drones were spotted in moscow as early as the evening of May 7. Mayor Sergey Sobyanin announced that air defense systems were active and that drones had been shot down over the capital.

Due to the threat of attacks, flights were temporarily restricted at Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports.

In Yaroslavl, following a series of explosions, a fire broke out at the Yaroslavnefteorgsintez oil refinery — one of the largest refineries in northern russia. Videos showing smoke rising above the facility spread on social media.

Explosions were also heard in Rostov-on-Don. Local residents reported a fire at the Rostovagropromzapchast facility. Air defense systems were active in the city, and sirens were sounding.

Russian authorities have not commented in detail on the consequences of the attacks.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on May 7, russian media reported that the Lukoil-Permneftorgsintez oil refinery in Perm had been attacked. It was last attacked on April 30, after which a fire raged at the facility for several days.

Drones also attacked a logistics facility of the russian Ministry of Defense located in Naro-Fominsk, moscow Oblast.
