US President Donald Trump announced a pause in the "Freedom" project, which was intended to ensure the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz.

He announced this on the social media platform Truth Social.

According to Trump, the decision was made in light of diplomatic signals from Pakistan and other countries, as well as, as he noted, US successes in the military campaign and progress toward a potential agreement with Iran.

"We have mutually agreed that, while the Blockade will remain in full force and effect, Project Freedom (The Movement of Ships through the Strait of Hormuz) will be paused for a short period of time to see whether or not the Agreement can be finalized and signed," Trump stated.

This refers to a temporary suspension of the operation aimed at ensuring safe navigation through one of the world’s key trade routes. The decision is likely linked to an effort to avoid further escalation and create conditions for negotiations.

As a reminder, the Iranian military allegedly launched a missile strike on a US Navy ship in the Gulf of Oman. It is claimed that the ship was not damaged but was forced to change course and leave the area.
