GDP down 0.5% in Q1

In January-March 2026, real gross domestic product (GDP), according to operational data, decreased by 0.5% compared to the same period in 2025.

This was announced by the State Statistics Service, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The data are provided without taking into account the territories temporarily occupied by russia and parts of the territories where hostilities are (were) underway.

Compared to the 4th quarter of 2025, GDP decreased by 0.7% (taking into account the seasonal factor).

The State Statistics Service clarifies the indicators of real gross domestic product throughout the year.

The operational assessment of GDP is based on preliminary statistical information on the real growth (decrease) rates of production volumes by types of economic activity.

Preliminary GDP data for the first quarter of 2026 will be published in June 2026.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in October-December 2025, real gross domestic product (GDP), according to operational data, increased by 2.8% compared to the same period in 2024 to UAH 2,517.678 billion.

In 2025, real gross domestic product, according to operational data, increased by 1.8% compared to 2024 (in constant 2021 prices) to UAH 8,931.2 billion (in actual prices).

The state budget for 2026 was developed based on the macroeconomic forecast, which predicts a growth in real GDP of 2.4%.
