An energy facility near the temporarily occupied city of Mariupol in the Donetsk Region was struck overnight, leaving part of the city without power. In addition, a location housing UAV pilots in the city was hit.
Petro Andriushchenko, the head of the Center for the Study of the Occupation, and a former advisor to the mayor of Mariupol, has reported this.
"Mariupol. Confirmed. An energy infrastructure facility northeast of the city was struck overnight. As a result, part of Mariupol is currently without power," the statement reads.
In addition, the locations of UAV pilots in the Prymorskyi District (Prymorskyi Park – TV Tower) and the village of Staryi Krym in the Kalmiuskyi District of Mariupol were struck. According to reports from the scene, the enemy sustained heavy casualties.
"The Russians are trying to paint a picture of a civilian building being hit, but it’s not working out very well," Andriushchenko added.
Subsequently, the Unmanned Systems Forces confirmed the May 1 strike on a temporary deployment site in Mariupol belonging to the "Rubicon" unit, a military unit within the russian Armed Forces that uses modern combat unmanned aerial vehicles.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of May 2, drones attacked a commercial seaport in Primorsk, Leningrad Oblast, where a fire broke out, and flights were temporarily restricted at several russian airports.
