Components manufactured in 2025 have been found in the attack drones used by russia, the aggressor country, to attack Ukraine. This indicates that moscow is successfully circumventing Western sanctions and gaining access to the necessary components.

Vladyslav Vlasiuk, the President’s Commissioner for Sanctions Policy, said this in a comment to Ukrinform on Friday, May 1.

According to him, experts found electronic components manufactured by companies from the US, Germany, Japan, and Switzerland in the drones shot down by the Ukrainian military last week. Components manufactured in Taiwan and the United Kingdom were also found.

Vlasiuk emphasized that the components found are “new.” They were manufactured in 2025. Information about them has already been shared with Ukraine’s partners.

This indicates that russia continues to gain access to Western technologies, despite numerous sanctions. For this reason, sanctions pressure on russia must be constantly intensified.

"At the same time, there are results. In new drone models, we practically do not see any components from the Netherlands. This is direct proof that systematic work with partners yields results and allows us to block access to critically important technologies," Vlasiuk said.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, yesterday, April 30, Bloomberg reported that most European Union countries are afraid to increase pressure on China, from which russia obtains up to 90% of the technologies necessary for weapons production.
