On the night of Saturday, May 2, russian troops launched 163 strike drones over the territory of Ukraine, air defense forces managed to neutralize 142 of them.
The press service of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on Facebook, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
It is noted that on the night of May 2 (from 6 p.m. on May 1), the enemy attacked Ukraine with 163 strike UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and drones of other types from the directions of Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (all - russia), Hvardiiske, Chauda (both - Crimea); about 100 of them were Shaheds.
"According to preliminary data, as of 8 a.m., air defense forces shot down/suppressed 142 enemy UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas types and drones of other types in the north, south and east of the country," the report says.
17 strike UAVs were recorded hitting 12 locations, as well as the fall of downed ones (fragments) at 2 locations.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of May 1, the russians launched 210 strike drones over Ukraine, and air defense forces shot down 190 drones.
Russian occupiers attacked Kharkiv with drones on the night of May 2.
In particular, in the Shevchenkivskyi district, an enemy drone was recorded striking a 12-story building. There are casualties.
