World faces biggest energy crisis in history - IEA chief

Executive Director of the International Energy Agency Fatih Birol said the world is facing the biggest energy crisis in history due to disruptions caused by the US war against Iran, Reuters reports.

According to him, global oil and gas markets are currently experiencing a period of significant difficulties and instability.

"When I last looked, the price of oil was above USD 120, which is putting significant pressure on many countries. Our world is facing a serious economic and energy challenge," Birol stressed.

As a reminder, the European Commissioner warned of the threat of an airline collapse due to the war in Iran and the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
